Adding and managing listings
Listings are how buyers discover your pieces. This guide covers the full lifecycle — adding a new listing, editing it, controlling when it appears and when it doesn't, and removing it when a piece has sold.
Adding a listing
From your dashboard, select Add listing. You'll be asked to choose the product type first — ring, necklace, earring, bracelet, or watch. The form sections that follow depend on the product type you select.
The more detail you add, the more buyer searches your listing can match — so fill in as many fields as you can. The title is generated automatically from the details you enter, though you can customise it if you prefer. See Writing a great listing for guidance on which fields drive search visibility.
You can save a listing as a draft at any time and return to it later. Drafts are only visible to you — they don't appear to buyers until you publish them.
When you're ready, select Publish. The listing goes live immediately and will appear in search results straight away.
Listing statuses
Every listing has a status. The status controls whether the listing appears to buyers and what actions are available to you.
Edit is available from any status. Relist returns an unavailable or archived listing to live.
- —Draft — The listing has been saved but not yet published. Drafts are not visible to buyers. From a draft you can Preview (see how it will appear to buyers), Edit, or Delete.
- —Live — The listing is published and visible to buyers in search results. It can be discovered through saved search alerts. From a live listing you can View it, Edit it, or mark it as Unavailable. Editing also gives you the option to save changes as a draft, which unpublishes the listing.
- —Unavailable — The listing does not appear in search results, but the listing page is still accessible via direct URL — for example from a saved favourite or a shared link. It shows with a strikethrough price to indicate the piece is no longer for sale at this time. From an unavailable listing you can Edit it, Relist it (moves it back to live), or Archive it.
- —Archived — The listing is no longer visible to buyers and will not appear in search results. Archived listings appear in the Your Archived Listings section of your dashboard. From an archived listing you can Edit it or Relist it to bring it back to live.
Buyer alerts
Several listing actions automatically queue email alerts to buyers. Alerts are not sent immediately — they are batched and delivered at set times throughout the day. You don't need to do anything beyond the action itself.
- —Stock alert — fires when you publish — When a listing goes live, buyers who have saved searches matching your listing receive an email. This applies when you publish a new listing and when you relist an archived one.
- —Price drop — fires when you reduce the price — When you edit a live listing and reduce the price, buyers who have favourited that listing receive a price drop email. If you subsequently raise the price back to the original, the pending alert is cancelled.
- —Unavailable — fires when you mark a listing unavailable — Buyers who have favourited the listing receive an email letting them know the piece is no longer available. If you relist before the daily batch runs, the unavailable alert is cancelled and no alert is sent — buyers never knew it was gone. If the batch has already gone out, the unavailable alert has been sent and a look who’s back alert will follow.
- —Look who's back — fires when you relist — When you relist an unavailable listing, buyers who have favourited it receive an email letting them know it's back. This re-engages buyers who were interested when the piece was first listed.
Editing a listing
You can edit any listing regardless of status. Select Edit from the listing row in your dashboard.
When you edit a live listing, your changes go live immediately. Take care with price changes: reducing the price triggers a price drop alert to buyers who have favourited the listing.
When a piece sells
When a piece sells, mark it as Unavailable. This removes it from search results and sends an alert to any buyers who had favourited it — keeping them informed and the conversation going.
If a similar piece is coming in, you can relist it when it's ready and buyers will receive a look who's back alert automatically. If the piece is gone for good, archive it from the unavailable state to move it into your archived records.
Deleting a listing
Deletion is only available for drafts. A delete removes the listing permanently and cannot be undone.
For unavailable listings, use Archive instead. Archiving is reversible — deletion is not.
