After finding the one, the search began.

I had finally found the one. Now I just had to find the ring — something singular, timeless and special. I had a clear picture in my mind, but didn't know where to start.

I began searching online and was presented with the usual national stores, but I wanted something more unique. I found plenty of rings I could buy with a click, but I wanted to see it, to hold it, and to know the person I was buying it from was authentic. So I started looking for independent jewellers near me. But most had little more than an address. No listings, no photos, no way to know what they carried. If I wanted to find the right ring, I'd have to go door to door.

But which door to knock first? I visited jeweller after jeweller, each with their own beautiful collection, each one almost right. And then, at the sixth door, there it was — sitting in the window, waiting for me.

A couple of years later, it was a special birthday for my (now) wife and I wanted to find the perfect necklace to mark the occasion. The same problem. The same search. The same challenge.
